NEW FEATURES IN MSM 6.0 COMPARED TO PREVIOUS VERSION MSM 5.1
WITH SERVICE PACK 1 (SP1)

1. Support for the new MINI-LINK modem
Support introduced for the new modem unit, MMU 2x2-34+2.

2. Support for new MINI-LINK terminals
Support introduced for the new terminals:
   - MINI-LINK 4xT1, 1+0 for the US market
   - MINI-LINK 4xT1, 1+1 for the US market

3. Revision information to file
Through a "Save to file" function in the Revision dialog it is now
possible to export the revision information to ASCII based text file.

4. Windows 2000
It is now possible to run MSM under Windows 2000 (SP1),
Windows NT4.0 (SP6) and Windows 98. Windows 95 is no longer supported.

5. Online Help improvement
A greatly improved online Help has replaced the MSM Operation Manual.

6. Setup wizard
A setup wizard that guides the installer through the configuration of
a unit, ensuring that the actions take place in the right order is
   now available.

CORRECTIONS IN MSM 6.0 COMPARED TO PREVIOUS VERSION 5.1 WITH SP1

1. The following remote alarms coming from the MINI-LINK E Micro terminal
are no longer written into the Alarm log: Remote A-alarm, Remote B-alarm,
Remote Warning and Remote Terminal. Corresponding alarms are not logged
   for MLE_1+1 and MLE_1+0.

2. MSM retrieves status information from the MINI-LINK terminals
either by background polling or by spontaneous notifications
from the terminals. The order of sending this status information further
to the MSM GUI could under certain circumstances be shifted, so
that a notification that reached the server immediately after a
background poll was sent to the GUI before the background poll
information. The result in the GUI could be that an alarm was activated
by the notification and immediately after cleared by the status from
the background poll. This issue has now been solved.

3. The serial number that is entered during installation was previously
   incorrect truncated to five characters.

KNOWN BUGS AND LIMITATIONS

1. AM Setup failure
   SYMPTOMS:
When an AM Setup is performed, that changes the traffic rate of an
MMU (only valid for MMU 2x2-34+2) the error message "AM setup failed"
   is sometimes shown.
   CAUSE:
The MINI-LINK terminal response time is outside the specified
response time-out in MSM (specified in the Configure Communication
   dialog)
   SOLUTION:
Be sure that MSM is connected to one of the MMUs on which the
traffic rate is changed. If this does not help the response time-out
   in MSM can be increased.

2. MSM database installation failure
   SYMPTOMS:
During installation of the MSM database a message is sometimes shown
saying "You have to reboot your computer to complete the MSDE
installation" If the alternative "Yes, I want to restart my computer
now" is selected the restart may, under certain conditions, fail i.e.
the computer is not restarted by the installation program.
   SOLUTION:
Exit the installation program by selecting the other alternative
"No, I will restart my computer later" and restart the computer
via the usual Windows Shut Down dialog.

3. MSM database initialisation failure
   SYMPTOMS:
During installation of MSM an error message is sometimes shown
saying that the application "bcp.exe" has failed. The installation
will continue, but the MSM database will not be initialised.
   CAUSE:
This situation may occur if more than one "bcp.exe" file, due to a
previously installed DBMGR, is available on the PC.
   SOLUTION:
Remove or rename the "bcp.exe" file not belonging to the MSDE
   database installation and reinstall MSM.

4. Graphical problem.
   SYMPTOMS:
The graphical layout in some MSM dialogs seems to be messed up.
Buttons and fields in for example the Traffic setup dialog are
   overlapping each other.
   CAUSE:
Your Windows installation is probably using large fonts while
MSM is optimized for small fonts.
   SOLUTION:
Modify the Font Size in the Control Panel->Display->Settings tab.
